SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran erased a 13-point, fourth-quarter deficit, but the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets outscored the Bulldogs by 10 in overtime to record a 72-62 road win Tuesday night in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.

For TLU, the loss was a second straight home defeat in overtime. The Bulldogs fell 98-91 in double overtime Saturday against Concordia Texas.

HPU improved to 2-3 overall with the non-conference win. TLU fell to 1-2 with the loss.

Bulldog sophomore guard Adelaide Wenzel (Victoria/Victoria East) forced overtime with a three-point play (a layup and a free throw) with eight seconds remaining in regulation.

Howard Payne All-American Danyel Bradley, limited in minutes after playing 36 minutes and scoring 27 in a road loss Monday at Incarnate Word, played crunch-time minutes late in regulation and in overtime. She hit a go-ahead three-pointer in the OT, putting the Jackets ahead 63-60 with 3:42 to play.

Bradley added a layup with 52 seconds to play in the overtime to put HPU ahead by eight. She finished the game with 12 points in 13 minutes of action. She added four rebounds.

Wenzel led TLU with 16 points, and she collected nine rebounds. Taylor Dydalewicz (Dripping Springs/Lake Travis) posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

TLU forward Kristen Lye (San Antonio/Clark) scored 13, grabbed six rebounds and had four blocks.

The Bulldogs trailed 33-19 at the half. TLU hit just seven of its first 31 shots (22.6 percent).

TLU ended the game at 30.3 percent shooting. HPU shot just 29.3 percent from the floor but made 19 of 21 free throw attempts.

TLU missed 10 free throws (15-for-25) and went 1-for-12 from the three-point line.

The Bulldogs return to action Friday afternoon with a 4 p.m. home game against LeTourneau University. TLU will have live video and live stats on tlubulldogs.com.
