SAN ANTONIO â€"
Taylor Dydalewicz had a look at a potential game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it just missed, as Texas Lutheran fell 65-62 to Trinity on Saturday inside Sams Gymnasium.
Â
The Bulldogs were down three, with 0.5 seconds on the clock, and the game looked like it was over as Trinity has possession and had to just inbound the ball to basically end the game. Instead, the Tigers tossed the inbounds pass the length of the court and out of bounds, giving the Bulldogs the ball back. TLU head coach
Mel Dixon drew up a play that got Dydalewicz an open look from the corner, but the shot rimmed out.
Â
The loss dropped Texas Lutheran to 8-7 overall and 3-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Saturday's result also snapped the Bulldogs' three-game winning streak. The win moved Trinity's record to 12-3 and 3-1 in the SCAC.
Â
Texas Lutheran was winning 61-59 with 2:43 left, but Trinity ended the game on a 6-1 run.
Â
The Bulldogs took a 36-33 lead into halftime, but a 28 percent-shooting second half proved too much to overcome, as Trinity shot 42 percent in the second half, including 5-of-11 from three-point land to take the lead.
Â
Dydalewicz (Dripping Springs, Texas) led the Bulldogs with 17 points, her second straight double-digit effort. She finished 6-of-12 from the field and 2-of-3 from behind the arc.
Â
Savannah Hight (San Antonio, Texas) was the other Bulldog in double digits, finishing with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, to go along with five rebounds. All five of her rebounds came in the first half. Seven of her 11 points were scored in the first half.

Â
Just like in Friday's win over Schreiner, Texas Lutheran got out to a good start, building a 7-3 lead early after a
Bianca Casas 3-pointer. A
Karisa Cantu jumper made it 11-7 five minutes into the action, but Trinity answered with back-to-back 3-pointers to take a 13-7 lead.
Â
Neither team was able to build much of a lead throughout the opening 10 minutes of action, but eventually the Bulldogs began to take control. They unleashed an 11-3 run, capped off by a Dydalewicz 3-pointer to take a 36-27 lead 3:25 left in the half.
Â
Unfortunately, the Bulldogs went scoreless the rest of the half, as Trinity clawed back to get within three before the halftime horn sounded.
Â
Trinity scored the first seven points of the second half to take a four-point lead, capping off a 13-0 run.
Â
The Bulldogs answered back though, rattling off seven straight points of their own. A
Chelsey Stolle layup gave them a 43-40 lead with 15:50 left. Things remained close for the next five minutes of action, but the Bulldogs notched another 6-0 run to take a five-point lead with 9:05 to play.
Â
The Bulldogs just couldn't hold the lead, as the Tigers, aided by a strong day from behind the arc battle back. Trinity was led by Caitlin Barrett and her 15 points. Barrett finished 5-of-6 from behind the arc.
