SEGUIN, Texas â€" Texas Lutheran Baseball placed seven players on the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Team, released Friday by the conference office after exclusive voting by the league's head coaches.
 
Three more Bulldogs earned All-SCAC Honorable Mention.
 
Bulldogs named to the All-SCAC Baseball Team were: senior first baseman Derek Kanas (New Braunfels/Canyon), sophomore third baseman Keaton Bohrmann (San Antonio/Johnson), senior outfielder Christian DeBlanc (Kingwood/Kingwood), senior outfielder Tyler Carollo (Houston/Waltrip), junior outfielder Tony Gennusa (Kingwood/Kingwood), senior pitcher Dwayne Snider (New Caney/New Caney) and junior pitcher Aaron Aleman (Corpus Christi/Incarnate Word Academy).
 
Honorable Mention selections for TLU included senior pitcher Conner Capdau (Sugar Land/Lamar Consolidated), senior pitcher Kellen McGriff (Humble/Humble) and junior shortstop Zach Jacobs (Brenham/Brenham).
 
Trevor Keele of the University of Dallas was voted the Offensive Player-of-the-Year, and Zack Speer of Trinity University was selected the league's Pitcher-of-the-Year.
 
Snider, TLU's senior right-hander, received one vote less than Speer in the Pitcher-of-the-Year balloting. Snider, a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team selection on Thursday, went 5-3 with a 1.60 ERA in 11 appearances and 10 starts. Snider held opponents to a .219 average in the regular season. He struck out 51 and walked 23.

In that same balloting, Aaron Quintanilla of Centenary College was named the conference's Freshman-of-the-Year, while Trinity head coach Tim Scannell was selected SCAC Coach-of-the-Year for the fifth consecutive year.

As for the All-SCAC team, Trinity earned a league-high 11 First Team selections. TLU followed with seven selections while Centenary had six.

Scannell received five votes each from his peers in the SCAC Coach-of-the-Year balloting. Greg Burnett of TLU and R.J. Thomas of Southwestern University each received one vote.
 
Kanas hit .305 with 17 RBI, a team-best 11 doubles, 43 hits, and 26 runs scored (second on the team). Kanas was named to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team on Thursday.
 
Bohrmann hit .314 with 26 runs scored, 44 hits, seven doubles, two triples and a team-best five home runs. Bohrmann led the team with a .500 slugging percentage.
 
Gennusa scored a team-best 27 runs and stole a team-high 16 bases. He hit .280 and collected 42 hits, eight doubles, a triple and three home runs (second on team).
 
Carollo hit .316 with 19 runs scored, 36 hits, five doubles and nine RBI. He stole nine bases.
 
DeBlanc paced TLU in the regular season with a .344 batting average. He amassed 42 hits, eight doubles and 17 RBI. DeBlanc, also a mid-week starting pitcher, went 2-1 with a 1.99 ERA.
 
Aleman won a team-best seven games, going 7-2, and posted an ERA of 2.82. He started 11 games and tossed three complete games and one shutout.
 
McGriff, a starter, went 5-2 with a 4.07 ERA. He started 10 games, struck out 21 and walked 12.
 
Capdau, a reliever, collected a 2-1 record with a 1.42 ERA. He saved two games.
 
Jacobs hit .252 with 20 runs scored, 22 RBI, 33 hits, six doubles and two triples. Jacobs stole 11 bases in 13 attempts and registered a team-best eight sacrifice hits. He added four sacrifice flies.
 
TLU is in its first season in the SCAC after 13 seasons in the American Southwest Conference. The Bulldogs are the No. 2 seed in the 2014 SCAC Baseball Championship.
