SEGUIN, Texas -- In the first-ever night baseball game at TLU's Katt-Isbel Field, senior right-hander Dwayne Snider (New Caney/New Caney) tossed a complete-game, six-hit shutout to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 victory over Centenary College (La.).

Friday under the new lights at Katt-Isbel, Snider struck out seven and worked out of a bases loaded jam in the ninth to improve to 5-1 overall. The two-time Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week took a no-hitter into the fifth and kept the Gents scoreless despite walking two and hitting three.

In the ninth, Snider gave up a hit and then hit two batters before getting a fly-ball out to left field to end the game.

TLU improved to 20-10 overall and to 7-3 in the SCAC. The Bulldogs moved into a second-place tie with Centenary in the conference standings. The Gents dropped to 14-15 overall and to 7-3 in the SCAC.

The Bulldogs gave Snider a 1-0 lead in the second inning with a triple from Von Wendel (Austin/Anderson) and an RBI sacrifice fly from Ryan Hill (New Braunfels/New Braunfels).

TLU extended the lead to 2-0 with an unearned run in the third. Tony Gennusa (Kingwood/Kingwood) reached on an error and came around to score on an RBI single from Derek Kanas (New Braunfels/Canyon).

Centenary left-hander Layton Tromba kept The Gents in the game with eight innings of work. He allowed one earned run and scattered five hits. He struck out three and walked one.
