SAN ANTONIO â€" Texas Lutheran was outscored 36-21 in the second half, falling 62-41 on the road against Division-I foe Incarnate Word on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs trailed by just six heading into halftime, but the Cardinals shot 50 percent from the field in the second half to pull away.

The loss dropped Texas Lutheran to 2-4 on the year, while Incarnate Word improved to 3-5.

TLU shot 24 percent from the field, though its 28 percent second half was a 10 percentage-point jump from the field half.

The Bulldogs were led by nine points from
Taylor Dydalewicz (Dripping Springs, Texas). The junior came into the game averaging an SCAC-best 22 points per game. She pulled down five rebounds against the Cardinals.

Karisa Cantu (San Antonio, Texas) scored all seven of her points in the first half. She finished with five assists and was 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.

The Bulldogs kept the first half close behind the contributions of Cantu and Dydalewicz. The two combined for 14 of TLU's 20 first-half points and helped the Bulldogs head to the locker room trailing just 26-20.

Texas Lutheran fell behind 12-5 early in the opening stanza, but brought the score back to just 18-16 with 5:21 to play after Dydalewicz was fouled on a three-point attempt, making all three foul shots.

The Bulldogs used the free throw stripe to stay in it in the first half, making 11-of-15 and overcoming 4-of-22 shooting from the field.

That production from the charity stripe dried up in the second half, as the Bulldogs went without a free throw for the final 20 minutes.

Katie Moore (Floresville, Texas) came off the bench and scored nine points in the second, knocking down three 3-pointers.
