Sioned Kirkpatrick's penalty-kick goal in the 77th minute was the difference, as Texas Lutheran Women's Soccer finished off a 1-0 road win over Austin College on Friday afternoon.

It was Kirkpatrick's fifth goal and second game winner of the season. The San Antonio native led the Bulldogs with six shots and two shots on goal. The junior even got another crack at a penalty kick just 28 seconds after her first attempt. This one was saved by the Austin College keeper. Fortunately, Kirkpatrick's goal stood up, as the Bulldogs held the 'Roos to just four shots on goal for the game.

The win improved Texas Lutheran's record to 4-6-1 overall and 3-2 in SCAC play. The loss dropped Austin College to 5-5 overall and 1-3 in conference action. The win also pushed the Bulldogs into a tie for third in the conference standings as we near closer to the halfway mark in SCAC play.

The Bulldogs were outshot 18-12 in the game and outshot in both halves, but their shots were more accurate than the 'Roos. The Bulldogs finished with five shots on goal compared to four for Austin College.

Erin Rose (San Antonio, Texas) went the distance in net for the Bulldogs. The sophomore tallied four saves on her way to the third shutout of her season.

Texas Lutheran came out firing to start the game, notching the first three shots in the match. Eventually, Austin College found its footing and ended up outshooting the Bulldogs 10-7 in the opening 45 minutes.
