SAN ANTONIO â€" The Texas Lutheran women's soccer squad were shut out 7-0 on the road Friday evening against No. 5 Trinity.
The loss dropped the Bulldogs' record to 3-4 (1-1 SCAC) on the year, while the result improved Trinity's record to 7-0-1 (2-0 SCAC).
For a while it looked like Texas Lutheran would head into the locker room at halftime still within striking distance, only down 2-0, but Trinity scored three goals in the half's last four minutes to build a 5-0 lead at the half.
The Bulldogs were outshot 53-4 on the game but played Trinity much closer in the second half, limiting the Jaguars to just 12 shots in the game's final 45 minutes.
Freshman
Erin Rose (San Antonio, Texas) was certainly kept busy in goal for the Bulldogs, making 15 saves on the day.
Texas Lutheran notched two shots on goal with
Sioned Kirkpatrick and
Courtney Farmer tallying one each.
The Bulldogs will continue their SCAC slate on Sunday with a noon kickoff on the road against Southwestern.
