IRVING, Texas â€" The Texas Lutheran women's soccer team scored three first-half goals to take down the University of Dallas 3-1 on Friday at Crusader Field.

With the win, the Bulldogs ran their unbeaten streak to three games and improved their record to 8-5-1 overall and 6-2-1 in SCAC play. The win also helped the Bulldogs keep their hold on the second-place spot in the conference.

After finding themselves down a goal with Dallas finding the game's first score, the Bulldogs offense woke up and rattled off three goals in just more than 20 minutes of action.
Sioned Kirkpatrick was at the center of the goal scoring, notching two more goals on the day to add to her impressive season.

Kirkpatrick (San Antonio, Texas), a sophomore, evened the score with the Bulldogs' first goal in the 20th minute. The score came off an assist from senior
Jennifer Kopetic (Round Rock, Texas), her first of the year.

Texas Lutheran took the lead in the 32nd minute off a goal by
Krystel Wolfe (San Antonio, Texas). It was the freshmen's second goal of her career. It came off an assist by
Courtney Brooks (Adkins, Texas). Her fifth assist tied her for the team lead in that category.

Kirkpatrick added another goal late in the first half, scoring in the 41st minute to give the Bulldogs a two-score advantage heading into the halftime locker room. With the pair of goals, Kirkpatrick now has scored 15 goals on the year. She came into the day with 13 goals and trailing Trinity's Emily Jorgens by just one goal for the conference lead.

After gaining the lead heading into halftime, the Bulldogs' defense would hold Dallas down the rest of the way to secure the win. The defense held Dallas to just three shots on goal for the game. Friday marked the sixth straight game in which the Bulldogs' have allowed no more than one goal to the opposition.

Texas Lutheran will get a short respite from the conference grind on Sunday when they travel to Houston Victoria for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
