TLU Women's Soccer Head Coach Kerwin Johnson begins his fourth season at the helm for the Bulldogs entering the 2025 season. Johnson, who has led TLU through one of the successful periods in program history, comes into 2025 with a career record of 33-19-7.

In his third season overseeing the TLU women's soccer program, Johnson led the Bulldogs to one of the best seasons in program history, posting an overall record of 13-6-1. The Bulldogs set a new program record for conference winning percentage (.800) and fell just one win shy of matching the program record for wins in a season. The Bulldogs would finish with 39 assists on the season, the third most in a single season led by ten from Klarissa Martinez who ends the season one assist shy of matching the program's single season record. Alyssa Simien became the first ever SCAC athlete to three-peat as SCAC Offensive Player of the Year. The Bulldogs finished second in the SCAC in the regular season and finished as the SCAC Tournament runner-up.

In two of his first three seasons at TLU (2022, 2024), the Bulldogs won double-digit games and finished as the SCAC runner-up in the regular season and tournament. In three years with TLU, Johnson has produced two United Soccer Coaches All-Region honorees, three Conference Players of the Year, one SCAC Newcomer of the Year, and 27 All-Conference selections.

Johnson, a former UIW assistant coach who is a member of the UIW Athletics Hall of Fame as a player, was named head coach of the TLU women's soccer program in December 2021.

In 2023, Johnson helped the Bulldogs claim second place in the SCAC for a second straight season. The Bulldogs concludes the 2023 season with a 9-5-4 record, going 5-1-1 in the SCAC to claim second place in the conference in the regular season. The Bulldogs matched the program record set a season ago for conference winning percentage - matching the 2022 season's mark of .786.

Several individuals found great success under Johnson in 2023, none more than Alyssa Simien who became the first player in TLU women's soccer history to win multiple SCAC Offensive Player of the Year honors and first to repeat as SCAC Offensive Player of the Year as well as earning United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors alongside teammate Klarissa Martinez. A program record ten Texas Lutheran women's soccer players were all recognized by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) headlined by Simien and freshman Caitlin Roach who was named Newcomer of the Year.

Kerwin Johnson made a historic run in his first season as head coach of the TLU Women's Soccer program.

In his first season, Johnson promptly guided the Bulldogs  - a team picked to finish fourth in the preseason poll -  to an 11-8-2 record, going 11-3 in the SCAC to claim second place in the conference in the regular season and in the 2022 SCAC Tournament. The 11 conference wins from the 2022 team set a new program record for most conference wins - surpassing the previous record of 10 which was met in 2004 and 2006 while members of the American Southwest Conference. Johnson's 11 wins are the most for a first-year head coach in program history. He also led the Bulldogs to the longest win streak in program history winning six straight games between Oct. 11 through Oct. 28. Johnson coached the 2022 SCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year Alyssa Simien as well as four additional All-SCAC honorees.
