Senior (2022)

Appeared on the mound in four games for the Bulldogs, including one start....posted a 7.71 ERA and a strikeout in 4.2 innings of work...made first start of the season at Mary Hardin-Baylor (4/19).

Junior (2021)

Backs was a member of the 2021 SCAC Championship team that advanced to the NCAA Division III Baseball Wisconsin-Whitewater Regional. 

Sophomore (2020)

Was named to the SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll for the second time.

Freshman (2019)

Named to the SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll in his first year with the Bulldogs. Member of a Bulldog squad that won the SCAC regular-season title, played for an SCAC Championship in the SCAC Tournament, and hosted the NCAA Division III Baseball Seguin Regional. Had 13 appearances, and made six starts, including the ‘if necessary’ game in the SCAC Championship against Trinity (Texas). Finished the year with a 1-0 record and a 5.34 ERA. Ended his freshman campaign with 30.1 innings pitched. Had 17 strikeouts. Was third on the TLU pitching staff with six games started.

High School

Backs is a 2018 graduate of Cy-Falls High School in Cypress, Texas and was an All-District selection for Chris Laird.
