KERRVILLE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball fell to Schreiner, 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-20), on Tuesday night at Stephens Family Arena in Kerrville.

Andie Lozano-Lomeli (Brownsville/Pace) led the Bulldogs (3-2) with a team-high nine kills, while Zaria Solis (Burnet/Burnet) added six kills and three blocks. Briana Salvatierra-Moore (San Antonio/Antonian College Prep) had a team-high six blocks to go with two kills and three digs. Ella Waterbury (Buda/Johnson) paced Texas Lutheran with 15 assists and 16 digs for her first career double-double.

Schreiner jumped out to a 10-5 lead in the opening set before stretching their lead to 17-9. TLU was never able to get back into the set as the Mountaineers took the opener, 25-14.

Texas Lutheran opened quickly in the second set, taking a 3-1 lead. Schreiner responded with a 9-3 run to move in front 10-6 and continued to build its advantage. The Mountaineers led 22-13 before TLU mounted a late rally to cut the deficit to 24-20. Schreiner finished the set, 25-21, to take a 2-0 lead.

The third set was the most contested set of the night with three ties and three lead changes. TLU took a 10-7 lead before the Mountaineers rallied to tie the set 11-all and force a Bulldogs timeout. The Mountaineers began to pull away 17-13, forcing another TLU timeout. TLU cut the deficit to 22-19 then the Mountaineers maintained control the rest of the way, closing out the match 25-20.

Texas Lutheran will look to bounce back as they travel to Georgetown for the Southwestern Invitational this weekend starting with Hardin-Simmons and George Fox on Friday, Sept. 11. First serve is set for 10 AM and 2:30 PM. The matches will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
