SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's soccer team (2-6) dropped a tightly contested 1-0 decision to UC Santa Cruz Sunday afternoon at Paul McGinlay Field in San Antonio in their final non-conference contest of the season.
In goal, sophomore
Ernesto Avila (Houston/Humble) recorded three saves.
The lone goal of the afternoon came in the 54th minute.
The Banana Slugs outshot the Bulldogs, 14-9, with both teams having four shots on goal.
The Bulldogs conclude non-conference play 2-6 and will return to action on Friday, October 2, as they welcome LeTourneau to Gustafson Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 PM and will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
