SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's soccer team (2-6-1, 0-0-1 SCAC) battled to a scoreless draw Friday evening against LeTourneau (4-4-1, 0-0-1 SCAC) at Gustafson Field as the forecasted weather stayed away to allow the two teams to get the game in.
The Bulldog defense secured its second clean sheet of the season behind yet another standout outing from
Ernesto Avila (Houston/Humble). Avila finished with five saves, including three key second half stops.
The first half ended with TLU having no shots on goal and TLU only facing two shots on goal themselves. After the break, four Bulldogs took shots including Avila in the game's closing seconds.
Both teams finished with limited shots on target - LeTourneau with five, TLU with four.
TLU continues their three-game homestand on Sunday, Oct. 4 as they conclude homecoming weekend by welcoming the Austin College 'Roos to Gustafson Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 PM and will be streamed on FloCollege. Sunday's match is scheduled to be a "Pink Out" for Bulldogs fans. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
