SEGUIN, Texas -- After a prolonged lightning delay postponed the match over two hours and the conclusion of the match into Saturday morning, the Texas Lutheran Men's Soccer team (0-4) fell to the Southwestern University Pirates (3-1), 2-0, at Gustafson Field.
The Bulldogs offense fired shots at Southwestern goalkeeper TJ Bass early and often.
Nicholas Dunn (Wimberley/Wimberley) had the first shot on goal of the contest at 8:19 mark that was saved by Bass.
Alex Isaacson (Round Rock/Round Rock) had a shot saved in the 22nd minute.
Southwestern tallied its first goal in the 24th minute with the Pirates doubling their lead in the 53rd minute.
The Bulldogs outshot the Pirates 10-9, but the visitors held a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal in the contest.
Texas Lutheran travels to Kerrville on Sunday, Sept. 13 to face Schreiner at 2 PM. The match will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
