SEGUIN, Texas -- #RV Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball concluded the final game of their 2025-26 home slate with a decisive 65-38 victory on Sunday at Memorial Gymnasium. The Bulldogs improve to 16-5 (11-1 SCAC) and end their home slate with a 9-2 record. The Bulldogs are a combined 47-12 (.797) at home during the
Troy Patterson era.
Senior
Sarahi Jones (Los Fresnos/Los Fresnos) scored 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting and wrangled six rebounds on the way to Sunday's victory in her final game in Memorial Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs dominated the battle on the boards, outpacing the Crusaders 55-37 in the rebounding category. Stout defense led to 37 rebounds by the Bulldogs on 47 missed shots from Dallas.
Senior
Lauren Sansano (San Antonio/FEAST) was the only other Bulldog in double digits as the Bulldogs nearly evenly dispersed minutes between their 11 active players. Sansano finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. With her six assists, Sansano eclipsed 300 assists in her career, joining Tara Molina (2016-21) and Allison McDaniel (1991-95) as the only players to dish out over 300 assists in their career. Sansano is the only player in program history with over 1,000 points and 300 assists as she moved up to eighth on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list on Sunday - passing Tracy Dempsey (1981-85) and Courtney Ard (2001-05).
Jessietheresa Brisky (Los Fresnos/Los Fresnos) scored a career-high nine points, going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc, to lead the Bulldogs bench unit.
The Bulldogs came out of the gates on a mission, starting the game on an 8-0 run, with three different Bulldogs scoring in the opening run. TLU held Dallas scoreless until 5:33 remaining in the first quarter. Sansano led the Bulldogs with seven points in the opening quarter.
Both teams struggled offensively in the second quarter as the two teams shot a combined 21.2 percent in the period, but the Bulldogs would still win the quarter, 12-9 to take a 31-17 lead into the halftime break.
Davi'Yanna Jones (San Antonio/Stevens) hit a three to start the third quarter and followed it up with another two possessions later. Five of the Bulldogs six made field goals came from beyond the arc with all of them nearly coming from the same spot on the floor. Brisky would make two threes as well while
Callista Perez (San Antonio/Stevens) made a three as well as TLU extended its lead to 16 heading into the final frame.
Senior
Hannah Gallegos (San Antonio/Harlan) started the scoring in the fourth, attacking the basket for a layup. In a somewhat poetic ending, the only Bulldogs to score in the fourth were seniors
Sarahi Jones,
Hannah Gallegos, and
Lauren Sansano on 7-of-9 shooting. Jones led the trio with eight points on perfect 4-for-4 shooting to close out yet another wire-to-wire win for the Bulldogs. TLU held Dallas to five points in the fourth.
The Bulldogs will travel to Houston to face off against St. Thomas on Friday, Feb. 13. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM. The game will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
