SEGUIN, Texas -- Despite 17 points and seven rebounds from Teddy Tapken (Austin/Lake Travis), the Texas Lutheran men's basketball team (8-12, 3-8 SCAC) dropped its Saturday evening SCAC matchup with Austin College, 80-71 at Memorial Gymnasium.

Tapken scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Seniors Semaj Edwards (Lanham. MD/Oak Hill) and Isaac Orozco (Helotes/O'Connor) joined Tapken in double-figures as Edwards finished with 15 points and four rebounds while Orozco added ten points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals for Texas Lutheran. Mason Wallace (San Antonio/Judson) dished out a team-high five assists to go with eight points, five rebounds, and three blocks.

Following Saturday evening's game, Texas Lutheran honored its five seniors: Isaac Orozco, Mason Wallace, Semaj Edwards, Darren Ford Jr. (San Antonio/Veterans Memorial), and Ben Coulombe '25 for their senior night.

The two teams traded small leads with neither able to create separation early as the two teams entered the second media tied 17-all with 10:22 remaining in the first half. The 'Roos would go on a 25-9 run to close the first half, carrying a 42-26 lead into the locker room.

The 'Roos would lead for the entire duration of the second half, leading by as many as 20 points.

The Bulldogs will look to end their 2026 home slate on a high note on Sunday, Feb. 8, as they continue SCAC play against Dallas. Tip-off is set for 2 PM. The game will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
