SHREVEPORT, LA -- In a thorough team victory, Texas Lutheran women's soccer recorded its fifth consecutive shutout Sunday evening, 4-0, over Centenary in Shreveport, Louisiana. Monica Sitachitta (Spring/Grand Oaks), Jocelyn Lugo (San Antonio/Lee), Caitlin Roach (Houston/Manvel), and Emma Alvarado (Austin/Johnson) scored goals for the Bulldogs, while Makenzie Ivie (Portland/Gregory-Portland) and Alejandra Lopez (El Paso/Eastwood) dished out assists.

TLU (11-3, 5-0 SCAC) got out to an early lead in the ninth minute, as Sitachitta used her left foot to score her first career goal as the ball bounced around in the box following a TLU corner kick.

The Bulldogs doubled their lead in the 28th minute as Lopez, who scored on a Lugo assist against Concordia (TX) on Oct. 9, returned the favor to find Lugo for her first career goal.

After 21 shots in the first half, the Bulldogs kept the pressure on in the second half. After two missed chances, Roach poked in a stellar cross from Ivie past the Centenary keeper for her first goal of the season to increase TLU's lead to 3-0 in the 50th minute. The assist is Ivie's SCAC-leading sixth of the season.

Ten minutes later, Alvarado took advantage of a loose ball following another TLU corner to send one scorching past the Ladies keeper to bring the game to its final score.

The Bulldogs fired a season-high 35 shots and kept constant pressure on the Centenary backline. Alysa Marquez (Miami, FL/Dr. Michael Krop), Alexis Morrison (Cedar Park/Vista/Ridge), and Skylar LeBlanc (League City/Clear Falls) combined for the shutout, TLU's eighth of the year. The Bulldog defense allowed just two shots by the Ladies (2-8-1, 0-3-1 SCAC) with none coming on target. It is the second time this season the Bulldogs haven't allowed a shot on goal.
