SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Tennis defeated St. Thomas, 4-3, on Friday at TLU's Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center. The win moved the Bulldogs to 2-1 in the SCAC and 5-3 overall.

After Texas Lutheran took the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3, the Bulldogs won the first singles match at No. 1 to take a 2-0 lead. The Celts then received two-straight singles victories to tie the match 2-2. A three-set thriller from Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels proved to be the difference, winning the final singles match of the day at No. 3 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles, the duo of Moninger and Cash Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) won 6-4 at No. 1. The team of Kadon Sullins (Kyle/Lehman) and JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) then clinched the point with a 6-3 win at No. 3.

Herrera won his No. 1 singles match in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0. Figueroa would also have to go three sets to win his singles match, 7-6, 4-6, 6-2.

Up next, Texas Lutheran faces Dallas in their regular season home finale at the Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center on Saturday, April 12th. First serve is set for 1 PM.
