BROWNWOOD, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's tennis dropped their season opening match to Howard Payne Saturday afternoon, 7-0, in Brownwood.

The Bulldogs were swept in women's doubles and singles competition.

In singles competition, Serenity Cabrera (San Antonio/New Braunfels) fought to a 4-6, 6-7, finish while Mercedes Tirado (Seguin/Navarro) would drop her match 2-6, 2-4.

Up next, Texas Lutheran opens SCAC conference play as they travel to Georgetown to face the Southwestern University Pirates on Saturday, Feb. 8. First serve is set for 1 PM.
