PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's cross country team earned its fourth Top 3 team finish at the SCAC Championships since joining the conference with
Jonas Martinez (Edinburg/Homeschool) becoming just the third runner in men's cross country history to earn All-SCAC honors.
The top three is the first top three finish under head coach
Bri Ratliff's direction.
Martinez broke his own program record in the 8K, finishing the race in 25:30.0, to finish in seventh place. The seventh place finish is the highest finish in program history, surpassing Caleb Calderon's eighth place finish in 2018.
Angel Miguel Hernandez (Luling/Luling) and
Prince Medrano (Seguin/Seguin) both finished in the top 25 in the 100 runner race, finishing 19th and 25th respectively. Medrano's time of 26:28.5 was a new personal-best in his freshman season and the fifth fastest personal-record in program history.
Lucas Falcon (30th) (Victoria/Victoria East)Â and
Adrian De Los Santos (45th) (San Antonio/Holy Cross) rounded out the top five.
Texas Lutheran will travel to California for the second time in three seasons as they will travel to Claremont, CA, to compete at the 2025 NCAA West Regional Championships hosted by Pomona-Pitzer College on Nov. 15.
