SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran outshot UT-Dallas 14-8 but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs ended the night in a 1-1 draw with the Comets at Gustafson Field on Friday.
Texas Lutheran took a 1-0 advantage just six minutes into the match as senior Gavin Edwards (Missouri City/Ridge Point) found the back of the net via assists from Erick Lopez (Humble/Humble) and Evan Pacheco (San Antonio/Central Catholic).
Texas Lutheran would maintain a clean sheet through the first half before the Comets would net the equalizer just under two minutes into the second half.
Both teams were aggressive the whole 90 minutes and it showed in the stat sheet, with 24 total fouls and eight yellow cards.
Texas Lutheran continues their opening weekend on Sunday, Sept. 1, as they welcome the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders to Seguin. First kick is scheduled for 7:30 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
