Bulldogs Outlast Colorado College in Five Sets

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran volleyball team defeated Colorado College in a thrilling five set match, 25-15, 22-25, 19-25, 25-17, 15-13, Friday evening at Concordia Fieldhouse on the campus of Concordia University in Austin.

The Bulldogs improved to 17-7 overall and 9-3 in SCAC play. Colorado College fell to 15-9 and 10-3 in conference action as teams fight for seeding for the 2024 SCAC Tournament throughout the final weekend of the regular season.

The Bulldogs outhit the Tigers .209 to .191. Texas Lutheran also held the advantage in blocks and kills.

Brylie Nedd (Sealy/Sealy) led the Bulldogs with 14 kills and tallied a double-double by adding 16 digs. Faith Coldewey (Floresville/Floresville) finished with 27 digs and six service aces. Julia Chew (Cypress/Cy-Fair) led the Bulldogs with 29 assists as she, Coldewey, and Shavonne Respondek (San Antonio/Madison) all also finished with double-doubles on Friday.

Up next, Texas Lutheran will conclude the regular season on Saturday with matches against St. Thomas and Austin College. The Bulldogs will open the day with their match against St. Thomas at 2 PM on the campus of Concordia University. The match will be streamed on FloSports. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
