BELTON, Texas -- Texas Lutheran dropped Saturday night's contest at Mary Hardin-Baylor, 92-69, at Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
Teddy Tapken (Austin/Lake Travis) led the way with a season-high 16 points. Three more Bulldogs - Semaj Edwards (Lanham, MD/Oak Hill), Mason Wallace (San Antonio/Judson), and Trey Blackmore (San Antonio/Cole) - would finish in double figures. Wallace would grab a team-high eight rebounds and dish out a team-high five assists.
Texas Lutheran would force six ties but would never lead on Saturday night, with the largest deficit of 29 points coming in the second half.
After trailing 46-21 at the halftime break, Texas Lutheran would outscore the Crusaders 48-46 in the second half.
The Crusaders shot 53.5% from the field on the night and held a 50-38 advantage in points in the paint. UMHB's bench would outscore the Bulldogs reserves 51-22.
Texas Lutheran will travel to California for a three-game road trip starting with a mid-week matchup against La Verne on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
