SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran cruised to their tenth sweep of the season, beating Concordia (TX), 25-20, 25-13, 25-21, on Friday night at Memorial Gymnasium.

Ryann Ely (Montgomery/Concordia Lutheran) finished with ten kills and two blocks. Victoria Powell (Richmond/Fulshear) finished with nine kills on a .692 hitting percentage, a block, two service aces, and four digs, while Brylie Nedd (Sealy/Sealy) had six kills, eight digs, and two assists.

Shavonne Respondek (San Antonio/Madison) had her 18th double-double of the season with 21 assists and 12 digs, while adding five kills. Julia Chew (Cypress/Cy-Fair) added 15 assists, eight digs, and an ace.

Faith Coldewey (Floresville/Floresville) led the defense with 19 digs and added six assists while Richelle Guerra (Brownsville/Rivera) added 10 digs.

The Bulldogs (15-7, 7-3 SCAC) led from start to finish in the opening set, winning it 25-20. The Bulldogs hit .450 in the set.

The Bulldogs held a 15-12 lead in the second set before closing the set with a 10-1 run. Texas Lutheran would hold Concordia to a .158 hitting percentage in the second set while Ryann Ely led the Bulldogs offensively with four kills in the set.

The Bulldogs dug their first hole of the night as they rotated in new players in the third set, trailing 9-4 to start the set and 20-18 late in the set before mounting a rally to complete the sweep, 25-21.

The Bulldogs will host their final home game of the season at Memorial Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 1 against No. 16 Southwestern. The match is scheduled for 6 PM and will be broadcast on TLU+. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com. The match will act as a "Gold Out,' as part of a TLU athletics wide  "Gold Out" on Friday in conjunction with men's and women's soccer as well as senior night for the Bulldogs as they honor their four seniors: Julia Chew, Faith Coldewey, Brylie Nedd, and Shavonne Respondek.
