SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran's four match winning streak came to an end Friday night as the Bulldogs picked up their fourth loss of the season, dropping a 2-0 decision at rival Trinity in San Antonio. The Tigers (7-1-2, 3-0-0 SCAC) scored two first half goals and kept the Bulldogs (6-4-1, 2-1-0 SCAC) off the board to obtain the victory.
Trinity struck early with a fifth minute goal to take a near immediate 1-0 lead. The Tigers would double their lead in the 26th minute as the Tigers went ahead 2-0.
Trinity out shot the Bulldogs 20-14 on the night but both teams managed five shots on goal. Alysa Marquez (Miami, FL/Dr. Michael Krop) finished with three saves on the night. Callie Brame (San Antonio/Churchill) and Alyssa Simien (San Antonio/Warren) led the Bulldogs with four shots each.
Up next, the Bulldogs will continue SCAC play on Sunday, Oct. 13, on the road as they travel to Kerrville to face Schreiner University at 2 PM. The match will be streamed on FloSports. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
