SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran men's soccer (5-1-3, 1-1-2 SCAC) suffered its first loss of the season Friday on the road at rival and No. 23 ranked Trinity (9-0-2, 4-0-0), 3-2, at Paul McGinlay Field in San Antonio. Louis Hart (Missouri City/Ridge Point) and Carson Alldredge (Spring/Klein) scored for the Bulldogs in the tough road loss.

Friday saw the number six scoring offense in NCAA Division-III (Trinity) matchup against TLU's fourth-ranked defense in a philosophical battle.

The match remained scoreless early on before Trinity got on the board first in the 32nd minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Texas Lutheran responded with two goals in the second half via a header from Louis Hart that was assisted by Diego Sanchez (Humble/Atascocita) and Nathan Roy (Houston/Cy-Creek) in the 60th minute before Alldredge would give TLU the lead in the 73rd minute.

Just when it looked like the Bulldogs would escape San Antonio with the upset victory over the nationally ranked Tigers, the high-scoring Tigers would find a way to score two goals in the final three minutes of the match to battle back to take the lead with just over 40 seconds remaining in the match.

Trinity held a 15-8 advantage in shouts and a 6-4 lead in corner kicks Friday night. Noel Pena (Houston/Cy-Falls) made five saves in the loss for the Bulldogs.

Texas Lutheran wraps their SCAC road trip on Sunday, Oct. 13, as they travel to Kerrville to face the Schreiner Mountaineers at 12 PM. The match will be streamed on FloSports. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
