KERRVILLE, Texas -- First half goals from Diego Roman (Houston/Lamar) and Carlos Longoria (Brownsville/Rivera) helped the Texas Lutheran men's soccer team (6-1-3, 2-1-2 SCAC) to a 2-0 shutout of Schreiner in Kerrville Sunday afternoon.
Roman tallied the game winner in the 27th minute for his third goal of the season. With Texas Lutheran up 1-0, Carlos Longoria doubled the Bulldogs lead in the 35th minute with his first goal of the 2024 season.
Noel Pena (Houston/Cy-Falls) recorded his SCAC leading sixth clean sheet of the season in goal for the Bulldogs.
Texas Lutheran outshot the Mountaineers 13-6 with an 8-0 advantage in shots on goal.
Texas Lutheran returns to Gustafson Field on Friday, Oct. 18, as they welcome the St. Thomas Celts to Seguin. First kick is scheduled for 5 PM with the match streamed on TLU+. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
