BELTON, TX -- Texas Lutheran Women's Soccer dropped their season opening match to the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders 3-0.
At Mary Hardin-Baylor's Cru Soccer Field, the Bulldogs held their own in the first half thanks to the play in-goal by freshman goalkeeper Madison Johnson who had 3 saves in a first half that ended in a 0-0 tie despite the Crusaders out shooting the Bulldogs 7-2.
The Crusaders came alive in the second half with goals in the 62nd, 73rd, and one final goal in the 86th minute.
Mary Hardin-Baylor controlled possession for a majority of the game and outshot the Bulldogs 18-2.
The Bulldogs are back in action this Monday as they host Concordia (TX) for a Labor Day home opener. Game time is set for 5 PM as Gustafson Field. Live stats and video can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
