SEGUIN, TX -- Despite a career-high 19 points from Gerrit Twitero (McQueeney/Seguin), Texas Lutheran fell to Concordia University, 83-73, on Monday night in non-conference action at Memorial Gymnasium.

Cameron Fontenot (Katy/Second Baptist School) was active on the boards, grabbing 12 rebounds to go along with eight points. As a team, Texas Lutheran pulled 43 rebounds - eight more than the Tornados of Concordia University.

Avery Theus (San Antonio/Brandeis)had active hands off the bench swiping three steals while contributing 12 points off the bench for the Bulldogs. Texas Lutheran forced 22 turnovers for the Tornados however were only rewarded with 15 points off turnovers in comparison to the Tornados 22 points off 18 TLU turnovers.

Texas Lutheran struggled from the field - connecting on just 31.5% (23-of-73) of their shots, including 26.7% (8-of-30) from three-point range.

The Bulldogs fell behind early in the first half due to a cold shooting stretch that saw the Bulldogs shoot 25% for the duration of the first half and carry an 11-point deficit into halftime. The Bulldogs shooting woes continued in the second half, but thanks to their stingy defense the Bulldogs were able to shrink the Tornados to as much as six but would never tie or take the lead in the second half.

The Bulldogs will return to play Tuesday, December 7, as they host the Mountaineers of Schreiner University in their SCAC opener. Tip-off is set for 6 PM and will be a "White Out" in Memorial Gymnasium for all fans. All streaming and stat links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
