LONGVIEW, TX -- Millsaps's Cameron Williams had 20 points - including the go-ahead free throws in the closing seconds - as the Majors of Millsaps College came from behind to beat Texas Lutheran 59-56 Saturday afternoon.
Cameron Fontenot (Katy/Second Baptist School) had 10 points to lead Texas Lutheran. Garrett Prince (San Antonio/MacArthur) finished with 9 points and 5 rebounds while Sebastian Andrade (El Paso/Americas High) added 9 points, 5 rebounds, and a team-high 4 assists.
In a game that saw momentum swing back-and-forth over the course of 12 ties and 18 lead changes, the Bulldogs held a 19-8 turnover advantage that led to 20 points off turnovers for Texas Lutheran as the Bulldogs' defense kept them alive in a game that saw them shoot just 28.4% as a team. The difference came at the free throw line as the Majors shot 84.2% compared to the Bulldogs 66.7% from the line in a game that saw the Bulldogs maintain an advantage in almost ball control statistical category.
Texas Lutheran (1-3) made just 6-of-31 attempts from behind the arc.
