SEGUIN, Texas -- Centenary College (La.) led for all but 23 seconds in a 91-77 road victory Saturday over Texas Lutheran.
The Gents moved a half-game ahead of TLU and Austin College for second place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Centenary improved to 13-9 overall and to 10-5 in the SCAC. The Gents won on TLU's home floor after TLU won in Shreveport in early January.
The Bulldogs dropped their second straight and fell to 12-9 overall and to 9-5 in the SCAC.
Ralph Johnson led the Gents with 23 points. He added eight assists and five rebounds.
Cedric Harris chipped in 18 points, five rebounds, and three steals.
The Bulldogs were held to 36.8 percent shooting. Centenary finished the game at 51.5 percent overall.
TLU was 6-for-30 from the three-point line. Centenary also made six threes but needed 10 fewer shots to make the six from the arc.
The Bulldogs head back onto the road for next weekend's conference action at University of Dallas and Austin College.
