SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs completed a 3-1 run in its home tournament, the Bulldog Challenge, after going 2-0 on Friday and 1-1 on Saturday in TLU's Jones Athletics Complex.
After defeating Howard Payne and Louisiana College in a pair of three-set matches on Friday, the Bulldogs downed Sul Ross State in three sets in the morning match before falling in an afternoon contest with McMurry.
TLU (3-1) defeated Sul Ross State 25-20, 25-22, 25-22 and fell to McMurry 32-34, 27-25, 25-16, 25-16.
Senior right-side hitter
Bryten Mitchan recorded 13 kills and three block assists in the win.
Peyton Sulak added eight kills and three block assists.
In the loss to McMurry, Mitchen and
Madison Weisinger tallied 14 and 12 kills, and Chambers and
Lexi Morris recorded 16 and 15 digs, respectively.
Weisinger and
Savhannah Kitchens combined with 10 block assists, with Weisinger tallying six block assists.
TLU travels next weekend for matches in California at the California Lutheran Invitational.
