SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs erased an early 11-0 deficit in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader and pulled out a 15-14 win to complete a doubleheader sweep of Wisconsin-Platteville.
TLU won the early game 15-5 in seven innings.
The Bulldogs improved to 12-5 overall with the two non-conference wins. UW-Platteville fell to 2-6.
Tyler Cauley (Mont Belvieu/Barbers Hill) homered in both games and drove in six, and
Austin Colon (La Grange/La Grange) went 5-for-8 with five runs scored and four RBI in the two games.
TLU trailed 11-0 in the fourth inning of game two. TLU got back into the game with a six-run fourth and a four-run fifth. Cauley hit a three-run home run in the fifth that pulled TLU within a run, 11-10.
The Pioneers walked 23 Bulldogs in the two games Saturday.
Chase Cutler (Georgetown/Eastview) picked up the win in the early game. Cutler struck out six and allowed just one earned run.
In game two,
Dylan Murrell (Tomball/Memorial) tossed the final five innings of game two. He struck out eight and allowed two runs.
TLU returns to action this Tuesday with a 7 p.m. road game against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
