DENVER -- Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball used a 23-8 advantage in the third quarter to post a 66-54 conference road win Friday over Johnson & Wales (Colo.).
TLU improved to 13-7 overall and to 9-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
JWU fell to 2-16 overall and to 1-11 in the SCAC.
TLU made its first-ever trip to JWU's Denver campus and the university's Wildcat Center. The Bulldogs swept the two conference meetings this year with the Wildcats.
TLU trailed 15-14 after one and took a 27-24 lead at the half.
Bryanna Delgado (Port Lavaca/Calhoun) and
Morgan Rodriguez (New Braunfels/Canyon) paced the Bulldogs with 11. Delgado added three rebounds and three assists. Rodriguez also had three boards.
Kasey Hairell (Hallettsville/Hallettsville) contributed eight points and six rebounds. Reigning SCAC Player of the Week
Tara Molina (San Antonio/Johnson) scored seven and registered three assists and three rebounds.
Eleven different Bulldogs scored in the game, and TLU's bench out-scored the JWU bench 36-2.
