SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Soccer avenged an early-season conference loss to Centenary College (La.) with a 5-0 win over The Ladies Sunday at Gustafson Field.
TLU led 4-0 after the first half with goals from
Bailey Nimtz (1:27),
Jaclyn Smolik (8:33),
Calista Goode (9:08), and
Monique Sierra (21:14).
Sierra, a freshman from San Antonio (Taft), added a second goal at the 48:36 mark in the second half. Sierra also assisted on Smolik's goal.
TLU had six total shots in the first half, and four of those shots found the back of the net.ÂÂ
Nimtz scored on her corner kick that curved into the far post in the second minute.
TLU improved to 2-4-1 overall and to 1-3 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Centenary dropped to 6-3 overall and to 4-3 in the SCAC.
TLU out-shot Centenary 17-6 and had an 8-4 edge in shots on goal.

Stephanie Barrientos and
Erin Davila each saw action. Barrientos played 70:18 and had two saves. Davila played the final 19:42 and had two saves.
The Bulldogs hit the road for their next conference contest, a 7 p.m. matchup Friday in Georgetown, Texas against Southwestern University.
