BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball dropped a pair of non-conference matches Saturday in the Holiday Inn Express Classic II Tournament at Illinois Wesleyan University.ÂÂ
TLU fell to No. 18-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University in three sets - 25 -22, 25-16, 25-12. The Bulldogs then lost to Millikin University(Ill.) in four sets - 15-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-16.ÂÂ
TLU's overall record now stands 4-12 overall.ÂÂ
Illinois Wesleyan's win over TLU put the Titans at 8-5. Millikin holds an overall record of 8-6.ÂÂ
Cailey Young led TLU with eight kills in the loss to the Titans.
Kelly Jurden collected 13 assists and nine digs, and
Peyton Sulak served up two aces for the Bulldogs.ÂÂ
In the loss to Millikin,
Savhannah Kitchens tallied 10 kills, hitting .346 with only one hitting error for the match. Kitchens added five digs and three blocks (1 solo, 2 assists). Young and
Bryten Mitchan each registered eight kills. Mitchan also recorded a solo block and two block assists.ÂÂ
In the back half of the court,
Jaci Chambers picked up 29 digs to lead the team.
Jennifer Rodriguez added 12 digs and two serving aces. Sulak produced four aces to go along with her six digs.ÂÂ
Jurden dished out 13 assists, while
Kacie Hall tallied 11 assists and one ace.ÂÂ
