SEGUIN, Texas --Â Texas Lutheran fell 2-1 to Concordia University in the season opener for both teams Friday night.
The Bulldogs dropped to 0-1, and CTX improved to 1-0.
At TLU's Gustafson Field, freshman forward
Luis Green (Monterrey, Mexico/Smithson Valley) kicked off scoring for the Bulldogs with a shot from the right side to the bottom left corner in the 14th minute of play.Â
Green led the Bulldogs with three shots on goal for the match.
Trailing 1-0 in the second half, the Tornados leveled the score with a goal from Omar Aguirre at the 81:39 mark. The goal was assisted by Alex Hayek and Joel Abrego.Â
CTX took the lead off a penalty kick from Nash Cole in the 83rd minute.Â
Ryan Benner had three saves in 90 minutes for the Tornados. Senior goalkeeper
Brendan Soto (Georgetown/East View) made four saves for the Bulldogs.Â
