Brittany Casarez (McKinney/McKinney North) knocked home the game-winner in the 75th minute to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 conference win over University of Dallas.
Sunday afternoon at Gustafson Field, the Bulldogs finally broke through at the 74-minute, 27-second mark as
Bailey Nimtz (New Braunfels/New Braunfels Canyon) sent a corner kick to Casarez.Â
TLU improved to 8-5-3 overall and to 7-4-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The victory clinched the No. 3 seed for TLU in the upcoming SCAC Women's Soccer Championship. The conference tournament starts Friday, Nov. 2 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 4 at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
Dallas, the No. 6 seed in the tournament, fell to 3-10-3 on the year and to 2-8-2 in conference.Â
Shots a plenty for TLU who dished out 27 total shots in the match, with 11 on goal. Dallas keeper Olivia Severson held strong between the posts, making 10 saves for the Crusaders.Â
Jaclyn Smolik (Katy/Katy) led the Bulldog squad in shots with five.
Calista Goode (San Antonio/East Central) followed closely with four, including two on goal.Â
