SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Soccer squad registered a 2-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory against Colorado College Friday evening.Â
At TLU's Gustafson Field,
Cameron Townes netted the match-winner in the 70-minute mark, and keeper
Brendan Soto made five saves as the Bulldogs improved to 7-5 overall and to 6-4 in league play.Â
Luis Green opened scoring for TLU with an early goal in the 7th minute to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead going into the half.Â
Both TLU goals were unassisted. Townes collected his second game-winning goal of the season on a penalty kick.Â
Soto held the Tigers scoreless majority of the match. He collected an impressive diving save from a Tigers' penalty kick by Robert Malone in the first half.
The Tigers cut the 2-0 lead in half with a close shot from Will Mallory at the 81:54 mark.
The Tigers dropped to 10-4 overall and to 8-3 in the SCAC.Â
TLU finished with 11 total shots, including four shots on goal.Â
