SEGUIN, Texas-- Southwestern University held Texas Lutheran to 26.7 percent shooting in the second half and posted a 74-46 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win Tuesday night in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs fell to 7-13 overall and to 3-6 in conference play. The Pirates improved to 9-11 overall and to 5-4 in SCAC play.
At TLU's Jim Shuler Court, the Bulldogs went 16-for-58 (27.6 percent) from the field overall and shot 25 percent (6-for-24) from the arc for the game.
The Pirates came out strong in the second, leaving TLU with a 33-point deficit with 2:54 to go in the fourth.Â
The Pirates scored 30 points off from turnovers to TLU's four. Tori Carraway led Southwestern with 21 points,11 rebounds and three steals.Â
Cami Davis (Marion/Marion/UT-Tyler) led with 17 points for the Bulldogs. She added three assists, three rebounds and three steals.Â
Presley Stephens (Crandall/Crandall) pulled down four rebounds and had two blocks.
Abby Hroch (Calhoun/Port Lavaca) scored seven points, made two steals and posted one block for the Bulldogs.Â
TLU heads to San Antonio on Friday to face Trinity University in its next conference match up. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. following the men's game in TU's Sam's Gymnasium.Â
