Raquel Morris led the Texas Lutheran Women's Soccer squad in shots with six total and three on goal in Friday afternoon action at Gustafson Field in Seguin against University of Dallas.Â
The Bulldogs advance to 3-5-1 overall and now have a 3-2-1 mark in conference play.
Stephanie Barrientos and
Mikaela Gilbert split time between the posts in the 90 minutes of play. Barrientos made two saves for the Bulldogs.Â
Shots a plenty for TLU, outshooting the Crusaders 32-5Â (16 shots in each period). The Bulldogs registered 11 corner kicks to UD's one.
Calista Goode opened up scoring for the match in the 11th minute of play. With a pass down the right side from Morris, Goode shot cross and sunk the shot in the bottom left corner of the net.
Jaclyn Smolik made the insurance goal from 15 yards out in the 19th minute. The shot was unassisted.Â
With a quick turnaround tomorrow, TLU Women's Soccer travels to Edinburg, Texas to play a non-conference match versus The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley at 7 p.m.
