SEGUIN, Texas --
Harris Jowell and
Jordan Kouremetis led a balanced scoring attack as the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs defeated the University of Dallas 74-61 on Jim Shuler Court in Memorial Gymnasium.
TLU had lost its last two home games on Jim Shuler Court but bounced back against the Crusaders. The Bulldogs collected their 15th win of the season, improving to 15-9 overall and to 9-4 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Dallas dropped to 2-11 in the SCAC and to 7-15 overall.
Jowell and Kouremetis each scored 12 for TLU, and
Sterling Holmes added 11. Jowell grabbed six rebounds, and Holmes dished out four assists and pulled down four rebounds.
Alex Cage chipped in nine points, four rebounds and three assists.
Shawn Hamilton registered four points and three blocks.
TLU led by 18, 41-23, at the break and by as many as 20 late in the first half. Dallas did not have a lead in the contest.
The Bulldogs made seven three-pointers and held Dallas to 2-of-13 from the arc. Dallas shot 39.3 percent overall. TLU hit 50 percent of its total shots.
The Bulldogs have one SCAC game remaining on the schedule. TLU, still fighting for 1 or 2-seed in the upcoming conference tournament, hosts Southwestern on Friday night.
