GEORGETOWN, Texas-- Texas Lutheran dropped a non-conference neutral-site game against Howard Payne University 73-68 in Georgetown, Texas at the Southwestern Tournament Saturday afternoon.

TLU held a 12-point lead in the first half and led 43-35 going into the half, but the Bulldogs couldn't fend off the Yellow Jackets second-half comeback.

HPU out-scored TLU 38-25 in the second half.

HPU improved to 2-2 overall. TLU dropped to 1-3.

Tara Molina led the Bulldogs with 21 points. Cami Davis added 15, and Presley Stephens scored 10.

Anastasia Willis came off the bench to lead HPU with 19 points to go along with 12 rebounds.

TLU held the lead during the first and second quarters, and HPU managed to tie things up at 25 with 8:58 to play. A three-pointer from Tara Molina allowed TLU to regain the lead and go on a 12-point run. 

Despite two runs of 12 and 11 points for TLU, the only lead change of the game came for the Yellow Jackets with 1:18 remaining in the third off a layup in the paint from Djimonii Jackson.

TLU wraps up the Southwestern Tournament with a 2 p.m. game in Georgetown against Concordia Texas.
