SEGUIN, Texas -- In its final tune-up before this weekend's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship, the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs romped to a 15-3 win Tuesday night over Concordia Texas at TLU's Katt-Isbel Field.
TLU, the SCAC regular-season co-champion, registered 18 hits against its former conference rival Concordia, out of the American Southwest Conference. (TLU played baseball in the ASC from 2001 to 2013.)
The Bulldogs, the top seed and the host for the upcoming SCAC post-season tournament, pounded out 18 hits and produced 12 RBI against the Tornados.
Colby Schrade drove in four and went 3-for-5.
Justin Law recorded three RBI and went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored.
Trenton Ray picked up three hits, an RBI and a run scored, and
Alejandro Gutierrez had a 2-for-3 night with two runs scored and two RBI.
Riley Schaefer scored three times and had two hits.
TLU scored three in the first, five in the second and two more in the third to lead 10-0 after three complete.
Aaron Milone (4-1) registered the win for TLU. Ryan Capel took the loss for Concordia and dropped to 0-3.
