Jordan Kouremetis combined to score 58 of the Bulldogs' 85 points in an 85-79 home victory Tuesday against McMurry University.
In TLU's Memorial Gymnasium, Holmes continued to round into form after missing three games due to injury (prior to playing in Monday's win over Hardin-Simmons). Against McMurry Tuesday, Holmes scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He made 12 of his 14 free throw attempts.
Fresh off hitting the game-winning three-pointer Monday against HSU, Behr contributed 20 points and seven rebounds against McMurry.
Kouremetis battled through a tough shooting night to hit a couple of big threes in the second half. He finished the day with 14 points and four assists.
TLU out-rebounded McMurry 40-30 and held a 17-4 edge in points off turnovers. The Bulldogs held McMurry without a field goal over the final 2:38.
The Bulldogs improved to 6-3 overall with their third straight victory. McMurry dropped to 5-6.
TLU swept the season non-conference series (two games) against the War Hawks.
LaRandall Scroggins led McMurry with 29 points and eight rebounds. Scroggins was 11-for-19 from the field.
McMurry finished the game at 51.9 percent shooting. TLU ended at 42.2 percent.
The Bulldogs won despite shooting 35.5 percent in the second half. TLU did go to the line 23 times (making 17) in the final 20 minutes.
The Bulldogs head to East Texas for non-conference games on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30 against East Texas Baptist and LeTourneau University, respectively. Both games will be played in Longview, Texas at LeTourneau's Solheim Arena.
