SHREVEPORT, La. -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball came home with a fifth-place finish in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament after a three-set win Saturday against the University of Dallas.
At Centenary College in Shreveport, La., the Bulldogs rolled past the Crusaders, 25-15, 25-18, 25-15.
Senior outside hitter
Kristin Fording closed out her stellar Bulldog career with 17 kills, 11 digs and four block assists. She hit .359 on 39 attempts.
Fellow seniors
Carlie Childres and
Mackenzie Zamarripa combined for 10 blocks. Childres had six.
The fourth Bulldog senior, Cadie Mae Vanececk, contributed 13 digs.
First-year player
Makenzie Griffin produced eight kills and four blocks, and freshmen setters
Jaci Chambers and
Sydney Sierra each dished out 15 assists.
Junior libero
Mathis Popelsky recorded 18 digs.
TLU hit .221 as a team and held Dallas to .049.
The Bulldogs ended their 2016 season with an overall record of 15-17.
Dallas finished with a 13-21 mark.
