SHREVEPORT, La. -- Texas Lutheran sophomore David Ching drilled a 35-yard shot into the Centenary net at the 28:04 mark, and the Bulldogs made the goal stand up in a 1-0 road victory Friday at Centenary College (La.).

Ching took the shot from the middle of the field. The shot deflected off a defender and into the goal.

TLU moved to 4-1 overall and to 1-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Centenary fell to 1-5 overall and to 0-2 in the SCAC.

The Bulldogs controlled the match, out-shooting Centenary 16-5. TLU keeper Jonathan Michael needed to make just two saves.

TLU's next match is another SCAC tilt. The Bulldogs head to Sherman, Texas for a 2 p.m. contest Sunday against Austin College.
