AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Soccer posted the first official victory of the 2015-16 TLU Athletics year with a 2-1 non-conference road win Tuesday over Concordia Texas.
TLU (1-0) fell behind 1-0 after Katherine Hamric put Concordia Texas (0-1) in front in the 21st minute.
But the Bulldogs bounced right back six minutes later to level the match at 1-1 with a goal from senior
Taylor Vatuna (Cypress/Cy-Fair). Freshman
Kyndall Ramirez (San Marcos/San Marcos) provided the assist.
Kelly Lochte (New Braunfels/home school) put home the game-winner in the 66th minute off a corner cross from junior
Tara Armstrong (Lincoln, Calif./Whitney).
TLU out-shot CTX 18-5 and had a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Erin Rose (San Antonio/Madison) made three saves for the Bulldogs.
TLU plays its next match at home. The Bulldogs host the Tigers of East Texas Baptist University at 2 p.m. Friday at TLU's Gustafson Field. TLU will have live stats and live video (free) for the soccer doubleheader. TLU Men's Soccer also hosts East Texas Baptist on Friday. That match is set for a 4 p.m. start.
