TACOMA, Wash. -- Texas Lutheran Men's Basketball opened the University of Puget Sound's McArthur Classic with a 76-69 loss to sister school Pacific Lutheran.
At Puget Sound's Memorial Fieldhouse, Dylan Foreman hit nine of 12 shots and scored 21 to lead the Lutes, who improved to 1-0.
Bryce Miller and Brandon Lester added 13 and 12, respectively, for the PLU. Miller also collected 12 rebounds.
Sterling Holmes and
Zach Behr each scored 14 for the Bulldogs, who dropped to 1-1 overall.
Paris Marquez contributed 10 points off the TLU bench.
Behr registered eight rebounds, two assists and two steals for the Bulldogs.
Total rebounds, shooting percentage and turnovers were nearly even for the two teams.
PLU held a 10-point advantage at the free throw line. The Lutes went to the line 35 times and made 28. TLU went to the line 22 times and made 18.
The Bulldogs wrap up play at the McArthur Classic with a 10 p.m. central Saturday matchup against host Puget Sound.
