KERRVILLE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball stormed to a 25-15, 25-14, 25-14 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win Friday evening against Schreiner University.
The Bulldogs won on the Mountaineers' home floor and improved to 13-4 overall and to 5-3 in the SCAC. The Bulldogs sit in third place in the SCAC standings with matches against Southwestern and Trinity set for Saturday in Kerrville.
Schreiner dropped to 4-18 overall and to 1-7 in the SCAC.
Against Schreiner, TLU hit .388 for the match. Junior outside hitter
Kristin Fording registered 15 kills and made just one error in 28 total attempts. She hit .500.
Fording also recorded four blocks and eight digs.
Megan Dugie led TLU with 15 digs.
Mackenzie Zamarrippa and
Brette Threadgill each added eight kills, and
Carlie Childres delivered seven kills and four blocks.
Kelcie Ingram and
Kaci Pecht combined for 40 assists, and Pecht served three aces.
The Bulldogs face Trinity at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and then play at 3 p.m. Saturday against Southwestern.
